High above the central hills of Nuwara Eliya at an elevation of 1,740 metres above mean sea level, clinging to the slopes of some of the highest mountains of Ceylon, commonly known as island of paradise, lies our Oliphant Tea Garden.
The cool mountain air, the lush surrounding plantations, and the dry winds, combined with the ideal conditions for tea, produce an exquisite and delicate character in liquors replete with flavour and aroma, a flavour not found in any green tea produced in the country.
Oliphant tea is manufactured in the oldest registered factory in Ceylon, in operation since 26th of November 1890. The Oliphant factory enjoys the highest elevation of the scenic mountains in the central highlands of Ceylon with some of the oldest tea bushes still contributing to this unique product.
